Always looking to give prospective (and existing) customers the best value for money, Comcast has rolled out its latest initiative for its various Triple Play packages – their bundled home services. With the Triple Play, subscribers are able to access some of arguably the best market options as it relates to Internet, cable and voice – all from XFinity.
The Various Offerings
New subscribers to the service providers HD Preferred Plus XF Triple Play, HD Premiere XF Triple Play or their HD Complete XF Triple Play will (along with the members of their household) be enjoying an array of features. One thing worth noting is that as a result of the promotion, there is even further incentive. Those packages would understandably boast the best features of what Comcast has to offer. In addition to accessing top quality home services, homeowners would also be eligible for an iPad mini or a Visa prepaid card. The reward card can be equipped with up to $300. Taking into account the fact that either of the two options is probably higher in value than any of the three packages, this does not seem to be a bad return on investment.
Acquirers of the HD Preferred XF Triple Play would be privy to a Visa prepaid card with up to $200. Some of the features of this package include over 200 channels for your entertainment pleasure (inclusive of top movie and sports channels) as well as XFinity on Demand.
Though it can be looked on as “basic” in comparison to some of the other Triple Play packages, there is no reason for those who subscribe to the Starter XF Triple Play to be kept out of the incentives. For them, the Visa prepaid card would be equipped with up to $150. While its certainly not the same, being able to tune in to over 100 channels (one of the features of the package) should be indicator enough that the “basic” label won’t be able to stick.
As is the case customarily, the location of the interested individual will have a keen influence on what can and cannot be acquired. This may take into account certain channels, for example.
While it’s safe to imagine that some would want such a deal to run for months (maybe even years), it should be noted that this particular promotion ends on the 9th of September 2014. Additionally, all offers are with a two-year contract, but it’s not as if the services won’t be needed even beyond that time frame, so that factor probably won’t matter much.
Why Bundle?
For those who are unaware, a bundle in the telecommunications sector refers to a merger of two or more services by a service provider for sale to the consumer. This is usually telephone, Internet and cable television. As if any more convincing was required, here are just a few of the reasons that acquiring a package like one of Comcast’s Triple Play options makes a lot of sense for any household:
Cost
The cost-cutting feature is one of the top factors (if not the most) among homeowners who choose to acquire a bundled package. Weigh the cost of an Internet and cable package for example, against the cost of acquiring each service individually, and the difference will speak volumes.
Convenience
In acquiring a bundle from a particular service provider, what a homeowner automatically inherits is a “one stop” option for all their home service needs. Not only that, but it leaves them with one flat rate and one bill to pay each month.
As such, if they are interested in upgrading one or more of their services, they can achieve this feat with a single phone call and with relative ease. This would certainly be a preferred option to potentially having to contact three separate providers to achieve a similar goal.
By extension, it is a similar scenario for those instances (however rare or frequent they may be) that the subscriber needs any sort of assistance with the services. This varies from needing assistance troubleshooting an issue because the Internet has stopped working, or uncovering all the ways that they can fully utilize the capabilities of their DVR. One phone call has the potential to take care of it all, and that’s a convenience that any homeowner would desire.
Potential add-ons
Using the existing Comcast promotion as an example, one of the benefits of bundling is that there are generally incentives that make the overall experience even better. An iPad Mini or a prepaid rewards card will always be the “sweeteners” of the deal, but whatever it is, it is always welcome.
It would not be too much of a stretch to imagine that a new subscriber to a home services bundle would be pleased with what they have done, particularly when it is taken into account that this decision would have been made after extensive research and evaluation. As if that pride was not enough, Comcast has decided to throw in an incentive for a number of their Triple Play packages that will make the feeling even that much better. For the promotion running until September 9 specifically, the rewards appear to be pretty great.
